David Weiss

Managing Partner

Weiss brings over 20+ years in various roles within the aviation industry, focused on maximizing the value of aviation assets. In his early career, he started at Aviation Systems International where he spent 7 years in sales and sales management for this aircraft parts distribution company, as VP Sales growing the company to over $50 million in revenues prior to being sold to Bank One Equity and Carlisle Group. He then went on to serve as VP of Sales for the Aero Maintenance Group, a start-up repair shop and parts distribution company and eventually sold to Air France/KLM Group in 2005. He continued to Dovebid in 2007 which was the the largest industrial auction firms in the world. In 2010 David joined the original founders of Dovebid to form Heritage Partners, which was active in auctioning and maximizing values of industrial equipment and facilities. Weiss is a licensed business broker and auctioneer, and has an extensive record of assignments in the aviation sector, including engagements with financial institutions such as PNC, GMAC, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, and others to manage the sale of EOS Airlines (757 operator), OASIS Hong Kong Airlines (747-400 operator), and Adam Aircraft (OEM for VLJ aircraft). He also worked with the US Bankruptcy Court to sell AeroThrust, Aveos Fleet Performance, Lufthansa Airmotive Ireland, and LTQ a Lufthansa-Quantas engine shop JV in Australia. Weiss is a Managing Partner of Cloud Investment Partners.

Declan Treacy

Partner

Treacy brings over 25 years in years in various financial, senior management and investor roles in the aviation industry. Joining the industry with Guinness Peat Aviation where he joined treasury department in 1988 and headed corporate finance division. Further, went on to the AGES Group, an aircraft & engine leasing company and active supplier of aftermarket engine parts, he served on their Board of directors. AGES had $300 million in assets and $400 million in revenue prior to sale to Volvo Aero in 1997. After the AGES group, he co-founded Magellan Air in 1997, where he managed a portfolio of approximately 50 regional jet and turboprop aircraft on behalf of several third-party owners including British Airways and GPA.

Konrad Walter

Managing Partner

Walter brings over 40+ years of experience in the aviation industry, starting his career with Eastern Airlines as an A&P. He then moved to Greenwich Air Service and GE Engine Service and held various senior management positions. While at Patriot Aviation, he was the Founding Partner and President in 1998. Then moved on to create Complete Turbine Service in 2002 which he sold in 2010. He later invested in Aeronautical Support International (ASI), which is an aircraft engine parts distribution and management company which is a portfolio company of Cloud Investment Partners. Walter then launched Turbine Management Solutions LLC (TMS) and is President and Managing Partner of TMS, a full-service aircraft and engine solutions provider, currently managing over 120 engines for a major aircraft and engine lessor, a major freighter operator, and other airlines and aircraft owners. TMS is also a portfolio company of Cloud Investment Partners.

Bobby Fessler

Partner

A 50+ year Aviation industry veteran, Fessler founded the AGES Group – and was former Chairman, that was later sold to Volvo Aero. He later went on the acquire Walter S.A. with Declan Treacy, which was a Czech-based aircraft engine manufacturer, which restructured and sold to GE. Following, he then co-founded Magellan Aviation and is an ongoing minority shareholder, following sale of the company to Marubeni Group. Most recently founded Cloud Investment Partners as a commercial aviation investment vehicle with Declan Treacy and Peter Zutty. Fessler remains an active investor in all Cloud investments.

Steve Bobal

Chief Financial Officer

An alumni of KPMG, Bobal spent the last 26 years in aviation working with The AGES Group/Volvo Aero (Engine and Aircraft Sales and Leasing, Parts Sales and Management Services), Aviation Systems International (Airframe and Engine Parts Distribution) and Aero Toy Store (Corporate Aircraft Sales, Financing, Interior Refurbishments, Charter and FBO Services). He was responsible for the integration of an acquired FBO in Montreal. Most recently, Bobal served as Chief Financial Officer of Willis Aeronautical Services (Engine Parts Distribution) where he was responsible for the transition of the accounting, finance & compliance functions from Southern California to Florida. In addition, he was responsible for the due diligence and integral in the successful acquisition of Willis Aeronautical Services (f/k/a JT Power) by WLFC in 2013.

Peter Zutty

Partner

Zutty is a 30+ year in aviation finance expert, initially working for Island Helicopters, a diversified fleet of 30 helicopters operating in the New York area. His career has also included senior executive positions in the financial and leasing areas of the aircraft, engine, and aftermarket parts companies. Following Island, he went to the AGES Group and served as CFO from 1984 to 1997. He also managed AGES’s fleet of 30 aircraft leased to regional airlines. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors of Aviation Lease Finance, the AGES Group’s $200 million engine leasing joint venture with Engine Lease Finance and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi Capital. He went on to become the President of Volvo Aero Leasing. After leaving Volvo, he served as Executive Vice President Capital Markets for the Magellan Group and managed a 5-year joint venture with Bombardier providing teardown services and parts sales for 20 CRJ aircraft. Magellan Group had approximately $200 million in assets and $150 million in revenue prior to it being partially sold to Marubeni Group. Zutty later went on to form Cloud Investment Partners LLLP in 2012.

Jack Campbell

Managing Partner

Campbell is a 25+ year career veteran in transportation and infrastructure asset finance, arranging and structuring over $10 billion of financings in the aviation, rail, marine and other asset-intensive markets. In his early career with CIS Corporation he headed several of CIS’s equipment leasing businesses with a focus on transportation assets, ultimately serving as Executive Vice President. He went on to join Credit Suisse where he was a member of the Transportation, Logistics & Supply Chain Finance investment banking team in New York, focused on large structured supply chain finance programs with transportation and automotive clients. Following Credit Suisse, he completed over $5 billion of aviation financings while leading the transportation finance teams at: DeutschePost, HSH Nordbank , HypoRealEstate Group and Old Hill Partners. Campbell joined Cloud Advisors LLLP in 2016 which is the advisory and co-investment side of the business, to expand the firm’s asset management and consulting platforms.

John Costello

Managing Partner

With 40+ years of experience in the aviation industry, Costello started out with Aer Lingus as an engineering apprentice. He holds A&P licenses and rated on the JT3D, JT8D, JT9D, and RR SPEY. In addition, he was an engine shop foreman in powerplant and test Manager for engine test/accessories. In his later career, he moved to the AGES Group where he served as the Senior Vice President of Sales/Marketing which was later sold to Volvo Aero (VAS Aero). He joined Cloud Investment Partners as a Partner in 2011.
